What do you do when a potential client tells you she and her fiance plan to be married in an intimate ceremony in the courtyard of their apartment building with only their closest friends and family present? You try not to sound TOO EXCITED on the phone. You keep things super chill. Because THAT SOUNDS AMAZING. You also try not to squeal in joy when you find out she and her fiance are professional classical musicians because you also play the clarinet and this couldn’t BE more perfect. (yes, I do sound like Chandler Bing sometimes)
Fast forward to two days before the nuptials when the bride-to-be emails you to let you know that there’s a 100% chance of rain. Even MORE excitement because you have eight clear bubble umbrellas in storage you’ve never gotten to play with for a wedding before.
And then you finally arrive to this fairytale apartment wedding in (I’m not kidding) TORRENTIAL rain and flooding and get to finally meet Alicia and Christian: two of the coolest and chillest people who also happen to have a fantastic sense of humor, which is perfect for a situation like the one we had. They had their friends playing a string quartet from the window of their apartment, which guests could hear from the courtyard below (!!!). Alicia wore blue rain boots with her tea length dress because she’s both practical and a badass. Christian’s father officiated the ceremony. Their friends and family gathered around and huddled under an army of bubble umbrellas, and a great time was had by all. In the rain. This is what love looks like, folks!
Thanks to the lovely couple for letting me be a part of such a beautiful and fun day!
