I often think of finding your forever person as a slow and magical experience. Colors become brighter, the world feels lighter, and being together through it all makes the mess of life so much easier to navigate.
Kelsey and Scott’s sunset engagement session at Seneca Creek State Park was like if you took all of those feelings and got to witness them in nature. I first met these two last year when they found me on my favorite ever wedding resource, A Practical Wedding, and my relationship with them since has always felt like a match made in heaven. Kelsey and Scott are both so unbelievably chill, fun, and they absolutely have the most lovely and authentic energy between them.
Fast forward to their engagement session at Seneca Creek State Park, one of my favorite spots in all of Maryland. Besides being absolutely stunning, Seneca Creek reminds me of these two. It’s earthy, it’s natural, and it’s peaceful. Just like them! Like so many couples this year, Kelsey & Scott’s original wedding date was impacted by COVID-19 this year but they have attacked rescheduling their wedding like true champions with grace, flexibility, and a positive attitude. I can’t thank them enough for being such incredible clients and friends!
Now let’s talk about their session, y’all. REAL TALK: It rained during my entire drive from Rockville to Gaithersburg. We’re talking 25 minutes of torrential downpour where I was a pint-sized ball of stress. And wouldn’t you know it, the rain stopped the very minute these two pulled up! The sun came out, and Kelsey jumped out of her car in the most BEAUTIFUL floral dress and I knew we were going to create something special. Not to be outdone, Scott brought the whitest, brightest suit to change into and let me just say… it was a show-stopper. You da best bride, Scott!
These two were such rockstars and were happy to try every single crazy prompt and order I shouted at them and I think that REALLY comes across in these photos. My favorite moment will always be when I told Scott to swing Kelsey around and they both promptly toppled over into a fit of giggles and didn’t stop once to complain about the wet grass. True champions, these two!
Kelsey and Scott, I had SUCH a blast at your engagement shoot and I can’t wait to capture all the amazing memories at your wedding next year!!
