As a wedding photographer, I’m used to getting loads of inquiries. Every now while reading through one, I know immediately and these are my people. This was absolutely the case with Paige and Andrew. In Paige’s own words, she spoke of wanting candid, silly, and goofy, photographs that capture her and Andrew’s heart-felt DC War Memorial elopement. By the time I got to the word “silly” I was SOLD!
These two are who I want to be when I grow up. From the minute we hopped on the phone, their energy and personalities were so positive and infectious. I could feel myself buzzing with excitement to meet them and capture what was sure to be a super sweet elopement. They talked about not wanting to have to wait out the COVID-19 pandemic to celebrate their love on their own terms. Again, SOLD.
When the day of the elopement arrived, we were treated to a sunny, quiet, and serene day on the National Mall. Andrew and Paige specifically chose the DC War Memorial for their ceremony and I couldn’t imagine a better and more intimate venue. Paige’s brother Hunter gave her away and Jeff Maszal conducted a flawless ceremony that really captured Paige and Andrew’s beautiful love for each other. They celebrated Andrew’s Scottish heritage by exchanging the gorgeous plaid tartan to formally welcome Paige to the clan! It was a so beautiful to witness!
After Paige and Andrew’s ceremony, we got to take our time frolicking across the National Mall and captured some candid and lovely photos. I loved capturing these love birds holding hands, looking into each other’s eyes and exchanging the brightest of smiles. When I found out that Hunter was a fellow film photography enthusiast, I was absolutely TICKLED. He brought his own 35mm with Black & White film to shoot and I was so happy to have a film partner in crime! What a blast!
Paige and Andrew, I can’t help but think we were meant to find each other. I couldn’t have been more honored to have captured such gorgeous memories. I want to thank you both for allowing me to freeze time for you! I wish you both a lifetime of health and happiness!
